Hunger TV; Dame Vivienne Westwood has made a splash in a provocative new PETA video about the meat industry’s depletion of world water supplies. Swapping her fabulous frocks for a shower cap, the fashion icon draws attention to the huge amount of water used by the meat trade.
Having previously directed the video for Glitches video Only Time Will Tell, Moleskine asked us re-interpret the song into a new video which celebrated their new range of Volant notebooks. A mix live action and stop-frame animation were used to bring the books to life.
This was an all encompassing, full on trip to Norfolk and Suffolk on a shoestring. No money, but the most fun to make. A great band and an amazing experience.
The Hear The World Foundation work globally with people suffering from hearing loss. They approached me with a song and asked me to provide concepts and later direct a video to accompany the song, to be sold on iTunes in order to raise money for the foundation.
Working with Allied in Texas, I directed this film for their site in 2012. The script was pretty challenging to work with, very numbers and word heavy.
This is an ad I directed for a Mofilm competition, which was shortlisted. I teamed up with a great friend and DP, James Moriarty and some wonderful students from London University of the Arts. We put this together on a shoestring budget.

Robbie Newby is a London-based director. Over the years he has directed for PETA, Natwest, Matches, MOO.com, Moleskine and has proudly worked with marine conservation group Sea Shepherd, as a media manager.
As well as direction, Robbie edits and shoots, working with the likes of Bryan Adams, Hobbs, Harper's, Stella McCartney and Chester Barrie.
Robbie started out in TV at the BBC in 2000, which cemented his life-long passion moving image. Having filmed and edited many EPKs for feature films, he has built up his experience on large scale productions and talent direction. In more recent years, Robbie has taken projects on from start to finish and brought his own production in to manage the requirements within challenging budgets. The extensive network of skilled people that he has acquired over the years and his ability to pull a great team together quickly is invaluable to his clients.
Robbie has remained multi-skilled, though he has specialised in directing over the last couple of years. His ability to edit or to oversee the edit as well as directing ensures that his finished product meets the vision of his clients. Having started out in Graphic Design, he is a visual perfectionist which shows in all of his work.
